Maryland Representative Steny H. Hoyer, the House Democratic leader revealed that this bill, scheduled for a House vote later this week, is very similar to legislation that has twice been vetoed by President Bush.

The bill would cover more than 10 million uninsured children while continuing to cover 6.6 million children that are already enrolled in the program.
