For instance, if you knew your family was more likely to contract a certain illness, would you hence alter your lifestyles to avoid the illness?</p>
<p>It&#8217;s questions like these that has Microsoft sponsoring a new genetic study sponsored at the Scripps Health System in San Diego, CA.</p>
<p>The study will genetically test up to 10,000 individuals who they will then monitor to see if they change their eating habits, quit smoking, etc.  Participants in the survey will have their genomes scanned in order to see their current genetic risks as well as what illnesses they may contract in the future.</p>
<p>The study participants will be observed for 20 years.  </p>
