The battle over prison medical facilities continues as California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger seeks to eliminate $8 billion that was planned for medical facilities in prisons.

Gov. Schwarzenegger claims that the prison medical plan is illegal and too expensive to continue in a state that is already suffering more than its due in the current economic times. 

Schwarzenegger staff have asked a U.S District Court judge to suspend the plan for seven prisons as well as terminate a mediator who oversees healthcare improvement in the state’s 33 prisons.
