According to a recent study, food allergies are up a whopping 18% among U.S. children.

Eight major types of foods are to blame for the allergies: milk, eggs, nuts from trees, fish and shellfish, wheat and soy. Reactions to these types of foods with an allergic child can range from just a mild sensation around the mouth and lips to even death.

Currently it is not known why one develops food allergies, although the fact that this condition is becoming more and more prevalent among U.S. children is highly disturbing.

Do you have children in your family with food allergies? How has this affected your way of living and eating?
