Stress got you down? It seems like everywhere I look people are totally stressed out.

Now I understand that we’ve all got a lot going on and our lives can be stressful just functioning on a day to day basis. But when does it cross the line into the gray area and then into the deep dark black hole of anxiety and depression?

I believe a lot of the problem must be in how we look at things.

Here’s an example. One person might find it stressful that our country is at war and someone else might not give a hoot. Then there’s even a third type that really gets off on war and thinks it’s fun and exciting.

So the first person might be all stressed out about the war, the second is more concerned about what they’re going to have for lunch and the third is flying high and enjoying the excitement.

What’s your point of view? Do you see the world and the people in it through rose colored glasses or are you lurking in the shadows with your shades on?

If you’re anything like me, you go back and forth from one to the other. So maybe it’s time we take charge of our point of view and start living with more acceptance.

I don’t know about you, but I work on this attitude thing every day. My days are full, I’m involved in a lot of different things and I often stick my neck out in one way or another.

And, when you’re up to a lot, you have much more chance of making mistakes, being criticized and reprimanded or experiencing downright failure. Unless my attitude’s in the right place that can hurt. And pain causes stress.

That’s why I work on seeing everything from a positive perspective every single day. Try this – take a look at the things that have you totally stressed out. Is there any way to put a positive spin on the situation? I’ve found that if I just take the time to recognize what’s got me upset, I can usually turn it around.

Give it a try. It works wonders for me.
