Do You Eat Well?

Almost everyone I talk to thinks they eat well. But does their body agree?
You can usually get a pretty good idea of someone’s overall health by looking at them. Are they tired or energetic? Is their hair full and shiny or limp and flat? Are there fingernails strong or do they chip or peel away easily? What’s the condition of their skin? Does it look healthy?
All of these different things are outward signs of what’s going on inside the body. Skin that’s not getting the right nutrients can’t possibly look healthy. If the glandular system (which controls your energy levels) is not getting what it needs to function, someone will feel sluggish and tired all the time. I won’t go on with this because I’m sure you get my point.
What does your body need? It needs nutrition. And the only place it can get the nutrition it needs is from your diet. That includes all the different foods and drinks you put into your mouth.
So as you’re putting the dyed orange peanut butter crackers you got from the machine in your mouth later today, think about what nutrition you’re getting from them. Will they benefit your heart, your brain, your eyesight, your skin? I don’t think so.
Stick with “whole foods” like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meats and oily fish. Basically, anything that’s not processed to death and loaded with chemicals. Cut out the white bread, chips, candy, hamburger helper and cocoa puffs.
Learn to make better food choices and your body will reward you for it. Not only will you feel better, you’ll look better. And who wouldn’t want to look better?
