As the portions of food given to us have gone up, so has the nation’s waistline. Your average fast food meal deal has more than doubled in calories over the last generation, with larger amounts of soda, fries, and larger sandwiches.

The trick is to eat small portions more often. Intense fitness experts like body builders eat at least 6 meals a day, some as many as 10.

That sounds like a lot, but eating the smaller portions, and more often, helps control appetite and stops hunger swings.
