Website For Women Lifters

Stumptuous.com is a weightlifting site aimed directly at women pumping iron.
If you’re a woman who’s always secretly eyed those dumbbells but has always had some dummkopf tell you you would “hurt yourself”, “get too big”, or Gawd knows what other idiocies, this is a good place for you to start finding out the truth and to learn to love the iron.
The site has sections on getting started, eating, inspiration, and ‘women stuff,’ such as advice on fear of getting huge and muscular:
“But I don’t want to get huge!”
I cannot begin to count the number of times I have heard that from other women when they ask if they should lift weights and I enthusiastically respond “yes!” Leaving aside the political issues for a moment (e.g., why is it bad for a woman to be muscular?), there is a basic physiological issue at work here: women’s bodies are generally not built in such a way that “getting huge” is a realistic goal. For most women, that would require taking lots of androgens, frequently called “steroids” in the athletic vernacular.
This is certainly a site that should be in the bookmarks of the lady readers.
