For those interested in tracking every single calorie, here is Caltrac. This amped up device looks like a pedometer, but tracks your activity on lots of other levels as well. It’s actually an accelerometer, and can help you distinguish between running calories burned and walking calories burned. It also claims to track calories burned while working out.
It looks a bit bulky compared to a pedometer, and the fact that the buttons on the outside are not covered (the single most annoying problem with open-faced pedometers, they get reset all the time) is not a selling point.
But if you absolutely have to know how many calories you’re burning, this is certainly the tool.
